This week’s entry comes from Besen Retail’s newest agent, Luxury Retail Specialist Hilly Soleiman!
After mastering the high-end retail landscape of the Upper East Side, Hilly set her sights downtown, and began to focus her efforts on learning the ins and outs of the West Village.
We’re about to head down to the West Village to survey our space for lease at 201 W11th Street (right next door to Two Boots Pizza), and I couldn’t help but notice the (supposedly) random collection of items inside the bag of Senior Retail Specialist Elliott Dweck.
The corner of West 11th and 7th Avenue houses Roasting Plant Coffee, Bone-Lick BBQ, Two Boots Pizza, and a Tasti-D-Lite frozen dessert shop. I can’t help but think that something is missing from the near perfect equation of barbecue, pizza, ice cream and some of the best coffee in the city. We’re trying to fill that void by finding the missing link for our space at 201 W11th Street in the West Village hot-spot. Maybe a wine shop? or a bakery? How about a flower shop to make that corner the perfect place to bring a date? We’re looking for a perfect fit, and we want to hear some fresh ideas.

Children’s boutique/salon/gift shop Doodle Doo’s has announced their arrival to the Chrisopher Street neighborhood in the West Village with a new sign. The shop owner closed the deal with Besen Retail last month, after outgrowing their Hudson Street location. “Momtrepeneur” Dana Rywelski created the one-stop-shop concept to help busy NYC parents who may not have a lot of time. Not only is it helpful for parents, but with free lollipops and bubbles for the kids, it keeps haircuts as pain-free as possible! The store will open just in time for holiday shopping, with a great selection of gifts for children of all ages.
