Lighthouse Opening in Williamsburg TONIGHT!

Opening

Tuesday, March 8th, 2011

Hours: 6 PM – 12 AM

145 Borinquen Place (corner of Keap)

[ L train to Lorimer, J, M, Z train to Marcy ]

Our friends at 145 Borinquen Place are opening their doors up for the first time tonight. Based on the invite we got (above), the place seems to be oozing with that classic Brooklyn swag. I checked in with them a while back, and that triangular slice of brick and mortar they got going on was looking pretty spiffy. We can’t wait to see the finished product.
We’ll definitely be there.
Will you?
Check out their Facebook page for info and pics.

NYC liquor license without the wait!

Restaurateurs may cringe at the thought of applying for a restaurant, with the long waits and red tape, but good news! Mayor Bloomberg promised to speed up restaurant applications. The State Liquor Authority also vowed to eliminate its own backlog of applications, and the Department of Health says it’s going to ease up on their policy on fines. The liquor backlog has already been reduced from 3,000 applications to 2,000, and the authority is working hard to catch up.
