By now you’ve probably heard everything there is to hear about the much hyped opening of Grimaldi’s Pizzeria at the Limelight Marketplace in Chelsea(corner of 20th & 6th Ave).
I’m surprised we’ve gone this long (a week) without saying anything about a story that is so deliciously blogworthy.

Greenpoint jewelry store Old Hollywood is the latest addition to the highly anticipated Limelight Marketplace. The only jewelry vendor in the shopping center so far, Old Hollywood will share a 12,000 SF space with J. Sisters Salon, a sneaker gallery, a gourmet market, LeSportsac, and Brocade Home.
New York shoppers are bursting with anticipation for the upcoming Limelight Marketplace in Chelsea. The three-story mall plans to open April 29th, which is only a little over a month a way. Boasting over 60 shops, the ex-church, ex-nightclub will home the very first Hunter boots store, LeSportsac, LuLu Denim & Sneaker Gallery, Brocade Home, and Selima Optique, among others.
The church-turned-nightclub-turned-shopping mall has finally set a date for its grand opening. The 20th Street and 6th Avenue spot will open on April 29th to the public. Some talked about retailers include a spin off of Dylan’s Candy Bar, Sabon, Hunter Boots, and Cupcake Stop. Visit the website for more info and pictures.
Limelight Marketplace, ex-church and ex-nightclub, now shopping center has filled 45 out of its 60 available spaces, according to the Real Deal. One of the most notable new tenants is “It’s Sugar,” a spin off of Dylan’s Candy Bar, who plans to home the world’s largest gummy bear among other bins of candy. The bear will weigh 5 pounds, and sell for $40 if you want to try to go into a state of sugar comatose. Other future shops include Hunter Boots, Sabon, and baby store Silly Souls. The store is expected to open for the holidays.
